I have been programming in C++ since 2011. Which means this is my fifth year learning and using the language. Even after 5 years of programming in C++. I can hardly say that I am an expert. i am sure anyone that programmed in C++ will know that it takes many many years of experience to be an expert in C++. The reason is because C++ is a big language and there are a million ways of using the language. most of us only get to use a subset of the language. Some are an expert in std library, while others are an expert in templates or polymorphism. To make matter worse, C++11 just came out 3 years back and it seems like a totally new language.
It is of my professional interest to be an expert in C++. For sure I know the basic pretty well, many much more than many people. But every time, I still stumble across many many things that I am not sure even after so many years. Sometimes, this causes me to lose confidence.
Recently I bought a few books on C++11. And I hope that I am able to delicate some time to learn new things everyday. And hopefully one day be an expert in the language.
